Cook’s Champagne was founded in 1859 in St. Louis, Missouri by Isaac Cook. It eventually was sold to Guild Wineries, a collective of 200 growers in California. In 1991, Guild Wineries was purchased by Canandaigua Brands for $55 million. Canandaigua changed its name to Constellation Brands in 2000. In 2025, Constellation sold the brand to The Wine Group.
