Taylor’s Port was founded in Vila Nova, de Gaia, Portugal in 1692 by Job Beardsley. The brand took on its current name when it was purchased in 1838 by Joseph Taylor, John Alexander Fladgate and Morgan Yeatman. The parent company is now known as The Fladgate Partnership, and produces several port brands as well as table wines.
