George Wyndham Wine was founded in 1828 in Branxton, New South Wales by George Wyndham. The winery was originally known as Dalwood Estates, and was run by his sons when Wyndham died. In 1904, the family sold the winery to Penfolds. They held it until 1968, when they sold the Dalwood property to cellarmaster Perc McGuigan, but retained the Dalwood brand name. McGuigan began using the Wyndham name, and eventually sold the brand to Pernod Ricard in 1990.
