Tenet Wine was introduced by Chateau Ste Michelle in Woodinville, Washington in 2015. At the time, the company was owned by tobacco conglomerate Altria. The project was launched as a collaboration with winemakers Philippe Cambie and Michel Gassier. However, soon after Cambie died in 2021, the collaboration was discontinued.
In 2021, Altria sold the Chateau Ste Michelle portfolio to private equity firm Sycamore Partners for $1.2 billion.
