What does JACKSON FAMILY WINES Own?
Jackson Family Wines was founded in Lakeport, California in 1982 by Jess Jackson, who had purchased an 80 acre orchard in the area in 1974. In 1986, Jackson expanded into the Santa Maria valley in California’s Central Coast, and continued to expand throughout California into the 1990’s. By the 21st century, the company had expanded throughout the world, and is now the ninth biggest wine producer in the United States. The company remains family-owned, and is now run by Jackson’s second wife and widow, Barbara Banke.
