Canoe Ridge Vineyard was founded in Paterson,Washington in 1989 by a group of investors led by Gary Begevin. The following year, Chalone Wine Group purchased a 50.5% stake in the business, which was expanded to full ownership in 2001. They sold the brand to Diageo in 2005, which then sold it to Precept Wine in 2011.
